Pre Level 1
The Pre Level 1 course is designed for young riders who have little to no experience of riding off road and are still developing the skill of standing on their pedals whilst they ride. We focus on correct technique for braking and introduce undulating mountain bike trails and cornering.
Level 1
Level 1 YDRP is an introduction to mountain biking at bike parks. Designed to help the less experinced rider develop the confidence and skills to enjoy blue graded mountain bike trails. Participants should be comfortable with standing on their pedals whilst riding and their bikes should be in good working order with both front and rear brakes. Riders will require a helmet (does not need to be full faced, although advised) and knee pads.
Level 2
Level 2 YDRP (intermediate) requires the completion of Level 1. This session is designed to further develop riders confidence and ability giving the opportunity to apply the skills learnt at level 1 onto red graded trails. Riders will learn to deal with steeper more technical sections and complete runs with uplift included. Participants will require a full face helmet and knee pads.
Adanced techniques builds upon everything that has been learnt at level 2, the exposure is increased greatly with steeper more technical trails as well as larger trail features including drops and jumps. Young riders may only participate if they have completed level 2 and have been recommended by coaches.
